Complain

D’oh! The phone line failed the Netsource line test for DSL. Grrr… I wonder if we’re in the IrishWisp coverage area. If not we’re damn close. That could be Eglinton Road at the top there…
I have a powerful urge to be sitting on a couch, surfing the net while listening to music with the TV on muted in the background. But I can’t! There are too many damn rooms in this damn house. The increased specialisation of the rooms has led inevitably to the disintegration of core values like being able to do everything at once without moving very far. I miss living in two rooms. It’ll be great when I get to Manhattan and have to pay $3000 per month for a one bedroom apartment.
Hmm. Well, those are a bit lavish. What do you reckon I’ll get for about $700?
I think I’ll be having the party on Saturday the 13th of September. Don’t know where yet. Suggestions welcome.

Back Home

A , posted by Anthony in the evening.

Well, I’ve been back at home for a few days now. I’ve been working, so only here in the mornings and evenings. Surprising the things you notice. The flat I’ve just left was pretty small. Pretty Goddamn small. The whole thing could fit quite comfortably into my parents’ kitchen area. ...

Full Night

A , posted by Anthony in the early evening.

Well, I moved back into my parents house yesterday. They’re away at the moment, in France, and won’t be back until tonight. Thanks to my old college buddies Zaini and Daragh for helping me move stuff (college in this case being DLCAD, now known as DL-IADT, where we all …

Update: Well, rather unsportingly, somebody has come up with a much better solution for the CgiComments problem. Thank you, Jay Sandhaus! Read about it here. It’s working! It’s working!

Yay! CgiComments is working! Nobody

A , posted by Anthony in the early evening.

Yay! CgiComments is working! Nobody on the newsgroup seemed to be able to help me, but I came up with a kludge (the second meaning of the word). I posted a short message asking for help with it, and received it pretty quickly. So now it works. The details …

Bloody Comments

A , posted by Anthony in the early afternoon.

Well, with great relief I’ve handed the foley over to my colleague Hugo Monks (he really ought to update his IMDb entry), and I can concentrate on the ADR (we’re mixing on Monday). I’m still flummoxed by this whole CgiComments thing. It’s… so… close… to…. working…. If …

Cursory Fleadh Note

A , posted by Anthony in the late afternoon.

The Fleadh was, as ever, a glorious experience. Great fun, and I even saw a couple of movies this year. Nine years of indiscriminate festival going paid off in style, when contacts I didn’t even know I’d made kept introducing me to producers they know from New York. I collected …

Preparing to head down

A , posted by Anthony during lunch time.

Preparing to head down to the Galway Film Fleadh tomorrow, so I’ll be offline until Monday. Should be good. Hopefully I’ll finally get to see “Headrush”, although it’s on at a really bad time – 11pm on Saturday night. That’s right when I’ll want to be drinking. Oh …
