Hey, so what’s nine days? I gotta say, I’m surprised at the number of people nagging me to update the blog (that number is two). I’m telling you, nothing interesting is happening to me. The whole reason for starting this was to keep people up to speed with my progress in New York. Well, I’m not there yet. I won’t be there until October (check the FAQ again if you’ve forgotten exactly when). I’m still adjusting to living at home. It’s still odd. I fried my Dad’s laptop, but it’s nearly working again now. I managed to network DOS with WinXP, which I’m quite proud of. Thanks to the good folks over at the Computing.Net forums, and to Bart for his Modular Network boot disk.
I finished on Ella on Wednesday, and this morning I’ve begun on Timbuktu, which will be my first Supervising Sound Editor credit. I’ll be working in town rather than Bray, which is nice. Lots of lunch options, and I’ll be walking to work (< =early good intention) so I’ll be able to have a pint of an evening if I so desire.
We’re not covered by IrishWisp, unfortunately. Looks like it’s Irish Broadband. They’re coming out soon to do a line of sight test. I wish we didn’t live in such a leafy suburb. I have a sense that I’m going to be feeling very resentful towards some trees.
