To Do

A , posted by Anthony around mid-afternoon.

I think the email notifications are working again – this post will, in fact, be the first test. There’s no way to automatically sign up for them anymore, but nobody has done that for months anyway so no great loss.
If you’re sick of getting an email every time I change the colours on the site let me know and I’ll unsubscribe you. I promise I won’t be hurt. Sniff.

My to-do list for the site, in no particular order: *Port over all the photograph pages. This will be a pain – I want to redesign them as posts, and link to them that way. I have some pix from Vanessa’s birthday I should put up.
OK, done. Access them through the “Gallery” Menu. Haven’t put up the pix from Vanessa’s birthday yet, though. *Integrate the Wiki. I have an idea how to do this, and it will be really cool if it works. But it will be really hard. I will tear out my hair. I will leave this until last.
This was hard, and I did tear out my hair. Now I have a glorified, interactive glossary of my very own. I am so proud! I might even try and turn it into an official plugin. *Make the whole thing less garish. This will be hard too. I have no sense of colour, apparently. I’m now remembering why I went with black, white and grey in the first place.
Well, I guess the jury is still out, but I have put up a “Classic” style, so those of you who hanker after the old days can find some measure of peace in it’s warm embrace. *Get the polls running. I need to find a new poll script. The last one was not playing nicely with this page for some reason. *Redirect all the MT pages to here permanently. I think somebody’s written a script for this – must check it out.
Done. You won’t be seeing those pages anymore – unless you use the Google cache, obviously. *Design a layout that will play nicely with IE5 on a Mac. The navigation menus don’t work properly (or at all) there. CSS issues. Get yourselves some sensible computers, people! Upgrade your browsers!
OK, so it ain’t pretty, but at least you can see all the links. I hope. *Answer some emails. OK, this isn’t strictly related to the site, but I’m developing quite a backlog. Sorry.
Getting there, getting there… *Stop posting about the website. I’m sorry. I know it’s not interesting. But the blog is about what I’m doing, and this is currently it. *Get a job. I’m running out of money quite quickly again.

Any suggestions?

OK, that’s it for Movable Type. Please point your browsers to http://www.anthonylitton.com/wpblog. This page will be here for a while, but I won’t be adding any more entries. Unless everything breaks. Those of you who are used to getting email notifications, won’t be anymore. Wordpress doesn’t allow for it. Yet. Just remember: ...

Oops

A , posted by Anthony around mid-afternoon.

Oh. I seem to have accidentally deleted the emoticon poll. Oh, well. As far as I can remember, most people were for them, albeit by a fairly narrow margin. Sorry about that. But I have bigger fish to fry! I think I’m going to do the Big Import soon. I was …

Still Experimenting

A , posted by Anthony in the early evening.

OK, I think I have the menus at the top working. Took a while. They were visible and accessible in IE, but when I fired up Mozilla it was a complete disaster! Anyway, I recoded them entirely from scratch …

Happy Birthday, Eleanor!

A , posted by Anthony fairly early.

Hey everybody, it’s my sister Eleanor’s birthday! I’ll get you a present once my last NYFA cheque clears, promise. And my good friend Deirdre Green should by now be married, I believe. I’m really sorry to have missed that. It’s actually quite upsetting. Oh, well. C’est La Vie. I’m missing a lot …
