A Return to Classicism

A , posted by Anthony around mid-afternoon.

A whole new look! My God! Where did that come from!

I haven’t finished styling the sidebar, or the links along the top, or the banner, or Ask Anthony. And I’ll probably change the graphic at the far right. And I’ll probably change the background colour. And I’ll probably add boxes around the comments, or something. And I haven’t figured out where to put the guestbook link. But other than that, it’s basically done.

Is everything working?

I’m about done, now. Maybe a few minor tweaks. Anybody have any complaints? Any usability or navigation issues? Anything difficult to read? I still haven’t come up with something I like for the far right – those little holes just aren’t doing it for me. Suggestions appreciated.

Doug – there’s a lot more text per page than before, but I think the delays are caused by the external sites that are called: BlogSnob and SiteScore. Sometimes they’re working ok, but others they become a bottleneck. At least they’re about the last things to load, so the content is all there.

An improvement, certainly. A great improvement, perhaps. A moment of nostalgia for the blatant virtuosity, maybe. I suppose that as a celt you cannot resist unnecessary ornamentation. Still, it is not as bad as the Book of Kells
