« « Like a Bee| Hold Em - Hold Em All! » »Happy Birthday Dean!
It was Dean’s birthday on the 21st. But he desn’t really read this, so I’ll have to send him an email or a txt message. How old fashioned.
I continue to work. I finally got paid, but for the first weeks work only. This is just in time for me to be only a day or two late with next months rent. Hopefully Vanessa will be too exhausted from jet lag after her return from Brazil to notice. This continued employment is good for me, but bad for the blog. I will try to make up for it by having interesting weekends.
I’m off to a bad start. Last night I swung by Solas for about an hour and came home – hey, I was tired. I stayed in bed until about 1:15pm today because Sense and Sensibility was on TCM. I’d never seen it, being somewhat wary of any film which so proudly displays it’s obvious chick flick credentials, but I’m a staunch admirer of Ang Lee (Hulk notwithstanding) so I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. It was really good. It actually quite got to me.
Anyway, things will get more active from now on. Tonight I’m going to go and play poker in Brooklyn (I recommend you place wagers amongst yourselves as to whether I’ll make yoga in the morning) and tomorrow night I’m going to go watch the Oscars™ at a special themed evening in Lunasa. Apparently there’ll be an iPod for the person who makes the most accurate predictions. It won’t be me. This is just as well, as I don’t really need an iPod.
So please bear with me through this fallow period, where I’m expressly forbidden to write about any of the interesting things with which I am involved. Just to keep you interested, here is a preview of forthcoming attractions:
- Vanessa’s return
Tomorrow. Will her batteries have been adequately recharged after her first trip home to Brazil in three years? Will she have made any major life changing decisions? Will she notice that I’m going to be a day or two late with rent? Will the apartment be clean enough for her? Ok, this is probably more of a plug for her blog than mine, but I’m sure I’ll mention something.
- My job finishing
Sooner? Later? Ignominiously? In triumph? Who can say? Not me, that’s for sure; and apparently not R* either. I wonder what ill advised large purchase I’ll make? Maybe another TV… Oh! I know! A PSP!
- Something to do with my writing
I have no idea what it will be, but surely sooner or later I’ll have some news. Right? Right?
- Zaini’s Visit
Late April. He won’t be staying with me this time, as he’ll be with Sagel. And he’s probably just sick of sleeping on floors. Hopefully he’ll have some interesting observations as to how things change and how they stay the same almost exactly a year after his last trip.
- Julian and Lisa
They’ll probably have some interesting news at some point. I imagine Julian would probably announce it on his blog whenever he gets around to it.
- Miscellaneous
It would be very dull if I knew everything that was going to be happening, so if nothing else check back to see what life throws at me. If anything.
And in Blogging news (this won’t become a regular feature, I swear):
Gerrysantangoman has abandoned his website and gone over to a more traditional blog. I applaud this decision, as it is already encouraging him to post more often. Dance, Gerry, dance! Next step: Wordpress.
Mary seems to have abandoned her blog. Again. It was called Moments II. It’s one thing to stop posting, Mary, it’s quite another to delete everything entirely. What about posterity? I look forward to Moments III.
I have been linked to by Donegal Express, and have reciprocated. I suspect we disagree about most things, but diversity of opinion is always a good thing. Anyway, I rarely actually express any opinions here unless they’re about movies.
I would promise to post about the weekend once it’s over, but it may well be next weekend until I do. Unless the job ends.
