Law and Order

A , posted by Anthony during lunch time.

I’d like to thank Tom of the Donegal Express for linking me in his You can’t spell Blogosphere without ‘Go Here’ section. He seems to be somwhat suspicious or fearful of New York, although I’m not sure why.

On a completely unrelated note, my leaving of Sunnyside seems to have precipitated a breakdown of civilized society there. This diner is only a couple of blocks from my previous abode. I was congratulating myself of having escaped from that perilous neighbourhood in the nick of time, when this happened. Nasty. And even closer to where I’m currently living. Oh, well.

On the other hand, I did get to hang out a little with Liam Clancy who is apparently some sort of musician. I was never into the whole Oirish eidelee eidelee music scene, but he seems to have been a significant figure in it. He seemed like a nice guy, although I really wasn’t talking to him much. Alan Gilsenan was in New York for a couple of days, and he bought Liam and his wife out to Molly’s for a few, along with his researcher Anna. Although Liam wasn’t drinking.

Alan was the last director I worked for in Ireland before I made my move (although I did do a little work last January when I was home for Christmas). He was the one who game me the number of his old buddy Conor Brennan, who was and is a great guy to know. I had Thanksgiving dinner yesterday with Conor, Barbara-Ann and Young-Min in a restaurant called the Heidelberg. We all live uptown now, so it was convenient.

The flat – sorry, apartment – is coming along. The bathroom door doesn’t close, I can’t get the hang of the shower and I need a large rug, but it’s pretty sweet. The whole home cinema thing rocks. As soon as I get an Xbox360 it’ll all be together nicely. I’ve kind of stalled since I moved. Moving itself was pretty draining, and I used it as an excuse to stop doing other things. Well, that’s a bit harsh – it caused me to stop doing other things.

But now I’m moved, and I can’t seem to quite find the energy to get back into it. I just work, surf the internet, enjoy my massive TV, and recently play Battlefield 2. I’m [R*]Ajlon, and I’m a member of the Rockstar clan. I’ve just started, so I’ve only played a couple of games. Badly. My excuse for spending time on this is that this is the way you network (pun gloriously intended) in the videogame industry. I don’t know if this is true or not, but I’m sure that embarrassing myself in front of the rest of the company is one way to get my name around.

But yeah, I’m not quite readjusted – there’s a vim missing. I’m drifting a little. I need to sort myself out. Yeah. Any minute now. Seriously. I’m almost there. Any second. Wait for it…

Ok, ok

A , posted by Anthony in the early afternoon.

I had intended to post last weekend, but I fell ill. I was steamrollered by a heavy cold that took root suddenly on Wednesday night and kept me out of work for two days and in bed for most of the weekend. It still lingers, although I don’t feel so …
